Overall Responsibility:
The Revenue Cycle Payment Posting Manager will lead and manage the payment posting team, ensuring timely and accurate posting of payments, denials, and adjustments. This role is critical for streamlining operations related to payment processing and ensuring that all payments and adjustments are posted accurately to patient accounts. The manager will also work closely with other revenue cycle departments to identify issues, implement best practices, and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue cycle process.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- High School Diploma and/or GED; Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field (preferred)..
- 3 years of experience in revenue cycle management, specifically in payment posting and collections in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing and coding, along with familiarity with EOBs and insurance processes.
- Leadership experience managing teams in the healthcare sector.
- Proficient in healthcare billing software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Lead the payment posting team, ensuring accurate and timely posting of payments, denials, and adjustments.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the payment posting process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor payment posting workflows for errors and inefficiencies and provide feedback to team members for improvement.
- Coordinate with billing, follow-up, and collections departments to resolve payment issues and discrepancies.
- Conduct regular audits of payment postings to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices in payment posting and revenue cycle management.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of payer requirements and changes to optimize payment processes.
- Prepare and present reports on payment posting metrics and team performance to senior management.
- Participate in cross-departmental meetings to ensure alignment on revenue cycle goals and operations.
- Other duties as assigned; this is a safety-sensitive position.
