Epic Training Lead

The Training Lead participates in new and ongoing training projects; coordinates and provides efficient and effective systems training and education for upgrades, new projects, new users, and ongoing support and education; and collaborates with various teams including, build team analysts, Super Users, department leaders, and end-users. The Training Lead should have an understanding of the Epic system and EpicU functionality. The Training Lead must have strong planning, communication, and relationship skills and maintain a flexible schedule to meet customer needs. The Training Lead supports end user training at all locations based on need and as assigned by the Training Manager.

• Participates in new projects at an enterprise or service area level as required.
• Provides and coordinates training and education for new users and ongoing support throughout the enterprise or service area level as required.
• Works with and provides feedback to Epic Wisconsin, clinical and business analyst teams, super users, end users, department leaders, and clinical coordinators to review and improve training environments, processes, and curriculum.
• Acts as a liaison for endusers, providing great customer service.
• Fosters a friendly and inclusive training environment where everyone feels comfortable asking questions and interacting with each other.
• Adapts training methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and preferences, ensuring that all trainees have the opportunity to grasp system functionalities effectively.
• Develops and nurture positive relationships with trainees and stakeholders, facilitating open communication channels and soliciting feedback to continuously enhance training experiences and outcomes.
• Provides ongoing enduser support for various systems, to include responding to help desk tickets forwarded to the Training Dept., and responding to email inquiries, phone calls from endusers regarding workflows, processes, and procedures on a daily basis.
• Provides Epic with the appropriate data to import trainee information into the Epic Training Platform
• Communicates training registration and completion data from Epic to operational and project leadership and defining the proper escalation paths if either of those are off track.
• Ensures all staff have appropriate Epic training tracks assigned and are registered for Epic classes.
• Secures training rooms, workstations, printers, projectors, screens, barcode scanners, and other equipment needed for virtual Epicled training and any operationally led DILs that require a computer lab.
• Outlines and forming additional educational and communication plans.
• Executes a successful employee onboarding program after for EHR training.
• Ensures new staff and transfers have appropriate Epic training tracks assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in related field is required.
• One year of experience in adult education, EMR workflows, or hospitals is required.
• Epic training experience and certification preferred or experience as an administrator in epicU preferred.
• High attention to detail, strong Excel skills, and strong communication.
• Capacity to manage multiple competing objectives and to clearly communicate results.
• Ability to lead others and to communicate the importance of training and engagement to all stakeholders.
• Experience with project management and marketing and communications.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills; ability to sequence activities logically.
• Ability to develop and adhere to schedules in order to meet project deadlines.
• Interpersonal skills to function well in administrative, management, and patient care environments.
• Ability to work effectively with staff that have a wide range of seniority.
• Excellent knowledge of English grammar and spelling for use in both verbal and written communication
• Ability to use PCbased word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
