Job Summary:
Xtreme Aviation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Inspector to lead the inspection and quality control and assurance efforts at our Opa-locka facility. The Chief Inspector will ensure all maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, company policies, and industry standards, ensuring the safety and reliability of the aircraft we service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the inspection department to ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.
- Review and approve maintenance documentation, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, OEM technical data, and industry standards.
- Review aircraft maintenance records, logbooks, and inspections to verify compliance.
- Develop and implement and maintain effective inspection procedures and quality assurance programs, ensuring they align with industry standards.
- Provide technical and regulatory guidance to inspection and maintenance teams.
- Ensure proper training and certification of inspection personnel.
- Collaborate with management and operations to enhance overall efficiency and safety.
- Address non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
- Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain compliance.
- Conduct, or supervise, thorough inspections of aircraft, engines, and components for airworthiness, safety, and performance.
- Review and approve maintenance reports and logs to ensure that repairs and modifications are in line with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the scheduling and execution of aircraft inspections, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational readiness.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for inspection and maintenance staff to ensure they remain knowledgeable of current best practices.
- Ensure that all inspectors and maintenance personnel are properly certified and meet the necessary qualifications.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Promote and enforce a safety culture within the maintenance and inspection teams.
- Review safety reports, operational incidents, and maintenance issues to provide corrective action recommendations.
- Assist with audits, internal inspections, and reviews to ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies.
- Provide expert advice and support to the maintenance department, engineering teams, and management regarding inspection issues.
- Address and resolve complex technical issues or discrepancies that may arise during inspections or maintenance.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance, aerospace engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 – 10 years of experience in aircraft inspection and quality assurance.
- In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, including FAR Part 145, 121, and Part 43.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and software.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance and inspection techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Occasional travel to conduct on-site inspections or audits.
