What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician position at Xytex?

Xytex is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist or Andrology Laboratory Scientist to join our team in the Atlanta area. In this role, you will play a critical part in processing, cryopreserving, and cataloging donor samples while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards. You will also assist in shipping samples to our central biorepository and may occasionally support operations at other lab locations.

What You’ll Do
- Perform semen analysis, processing, and cryopreservation.
- Conduct laboratory testing and donor sample processing following strict quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper sample storage.
- Support shipping operations to ensure timely and secure transport of specimens.
- Handle and work safely around liquid nitrogen (-196°C) for cryopreservation.
- Follow all laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with phlebotomy and additional andrology-related procedures, as needed.
