Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine project requirements and scope.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create precise estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to assess project feasibility and budget constraints.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Conduct site visits to gather information on existing conditions and assess potential challenges.
- Prepare reports on estimates, budgets, and forecasts for management review.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of contract negotiation processes and cost control measures.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and project management principles.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
