PERSONAL SUPPORT : tasks and duties involved in assisting individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, meal preparation, medication reminders, companionship, and emotional support, often due to age, illness, or disability, allowing them to maintain as much independence as possible; this typically includes tasks like bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and providing basic healthcare monitoring while respecting the individual's dignity and privacy
- Personal care:Assisting with bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, and toileting.
- Mobility support:Helping with transferring from bed to chair, walking, using assistive devices like walkers or wheelchairs.
- Meal preparation:Assisting with meal planning, preparing food, feeding, and monitoring dietary needs.
Summary
As a Caregiver/Companion, you will provide essential support and companionship to individuals in need, enhancing their quality of life. Reporting to the care manager, your core responsibility will be caregiving, which includes assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and patient care. Your premium skills in first aid, patient observation, and home & community care will be vital in ensuring safety and comfort. Additionally, your relevant experience in long-term care and social work will help foster meaningful connections with those you serve, making a positive impact in their lives.
