Operational Compliance Continuous Monitoring Supervisor

The Supervisor, Operational Compliance (OC) Continuous Monitoring is responsible for leading advanced level data analytics and continuous monitoring functions. Assists with creating data-driven operational reviews and conducting data analysis projects in support of all OC aspects. Provides support and training for OC staff on the use of audit analytics. Develops dashboards to enhance reporting by incorporating relevant data profiling and visualizations. Develops and maintains continuous monitoring queries and related documentation. Assists with the automation of department wide metrics and workflows. Assists with the administration of the audit management system. Assists with the support over any OC analytical systems, software tools, and library of standardized data extraction routines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develops and executes the performance of OC audit analytical procedures, including identifying issues and developing criteria.  Creates and integrates the use of data analytics across the OC review lifecycle that may include internal control updates, policy assessments, risk assessments, audit execution, reporting and continuous auditing/monitoring.2. Collaborates with OC leadership in the visioning and identification of internal control automation opportunities and works with key stakeholders to develop resulting outputs. Prioritizes work assignments based upon the annual review plan and direction from OC leadership. Provides oversight and guidance of the OC analytics section including work performed by team members and related analytical tasks.  3. Develops dashboards to enhance reporting by integrating relevant data profiling and visualizations.  Dashboards may be developed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of OC processes or other sectors of the enterprise through collaboration with key stakeholders.4. Assists in the administration of the audit management system, including updating audit review templates or assisting the Director of OC in assigning appropriate permissions.5. Provides oversight and review of integral gaming systems’ role provisioning matrix permissions in collaboration with key stakeholders and IT to ensure proper segregation of duties and compliance with applicable standards.  6. Performs other duties as assigned to support efficient operation of the OC department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Psychology is required.  •    Minimum of one (1) year in the casino industry with experience performing consulting and audit work in gaming and non-gaming areas is required. •    Supervisory and/or senior level auditor experience in the areas of audit, quality control or risk management preferred.•    Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

•    Strong knowledge of applying data analytics to improve business performance, controls, and processes.•    Experience with database querying using SQL or other similar methodologies.  •    Experience in performing audits, reviews, and/or assessments under Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) or similar standards (e.g. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards).•    Experience in the areas of quality assurance, internal controls, program effectiveness, program improvement and/or applicable regulatory matters...•    Must demonstrate the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization.•    Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, SharePoint, and relevant audit software required.•    Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking and work under pressure.•    Experience performing consulting/auditing work in the casino industry, and/or working for a casino regulator preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

•    At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.•    Select One of the Following: 

• ☐ Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required. 
• ☒ Driving Responsibilities: Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.
• ☐ No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.

•    Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are preferred.
