Yacht Starship Dining Cruises operates Tampa Bay's premier and largest fleet of Dining Yachts cruising out of Tampa Channelside and Clearwater Marina. Yacht Starship also owns and operates Pirate Water Taxi, the Lost Pearl pirate ship, the Bay Rocket jet boat, Tampa Riverwalk Rentals and Craft, a European style dining vessel on the Hillsborough River. Yacht Starship's food and service have been rated 3-diamond by AAA which ranks in the top 28% of all restaurants nationwide. Our cruises consist of public lunch and dinners, private events, corporate functions, conventions, social events, beautiful weddings and much more.
Yacht Starship is looking to add an experienced Front of House Manager to its Tampa team to coordinate and supervise food and beverage service, ensuring complete guest satisfaction and smooth operations. Ensure that staff is trained on proper food and dining room presentation, proper and legal alcoholic beverage service, kitchen safety techniques and health standards while ensuring that company standards are upheld.
Requirements:JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Customer-Service: Interact with guests while being friendly and courteous at all times.
- Attention to Detail: Food and service standards, costs, inventory, safety, etc.
- Leadership: Must be an effective leader, rallying the team during heavy shifts, resolving conflicts and getting the job done.
- Motivate staff. Interact with employees, counsel as needed. Lead by example.
- Management Skills: scheduling, bartending, serving, running the floor, help expo if needed, daily reports, bank reconciliation, basic computer skills, Toast POS a plus.
- Organizational Skills: Upkeep of work schedules, inventories, cleaning projects, etc. Being organized is crucial to this job.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Dealing with employee conflict and unhappy guests. Being able to come to a solution quickly is a needed skill. Flexibility as clients change.
- Communication Skills: Accurately and easily communicate with staff and customers both verbally and written.
- Availability: days, nights, weekends and holidays.
NECESSARY JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Current food and beverage management experience to include high volume dining, weddings and banquets.
- Ability to direct efforts and adequately train employees.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work under stress with patience and tolerance.
EDUCATION/FORMAL TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma, or equivalent, with some formal or technical training equivalent.
- Four years of food and beverage management.
