Work Schedule/Requirements: Generally Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm
Primary job function and duties: Provides respectful and courteous customer service to clients of the Yadkin County Human Services Agency. Employees in this position answer calls or requests for service either in person or on the phone. Assists with requests for services or directs clients to the appropriate unit of the agency. Enters client demographic information and schedules appointments/requests for services into appropriate computer programs or databases including but not limited to NC FAST. Assist the public by providing basic information on other county agencies and resources. Responsible for balancing a cash drawer and providing receipts and documentation of any financial transactions. Other general offices duties must be done in a timely and accurate manner including monitoring, logging and disseminating faxes to appropriate staff, processing agency mail and monitoring the agency’s drop boxes that hold confidential client information. Securing the lobby at the open and close of operations each day and reporting any maintenance issues as needed. This position is required to maintain a Notary Certification. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience in a clerical-accounting function.
- Physical Requirements: Able to bend, stoop, walk, sit for extended periods of time, view a computer monitor/use a keyboard and mouse, as well as lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and occasional lift up to 35 lbs.
- Knowledge of office software and technology applications to the administrative environment including spreadsheets, data bases, financial applications, and word processing.
- Ability to operate any office machines required by the position such as multi-line phone system, computer, copier, FAX, scanner, calculator and other office equipment.
- Ability to record information, balance figures, and arrange/place records, reports and files into proper sequence. Basic math skills are required.
- Able to communicate effectively with people of varying backgrounds, and establish effective working relationships with supervisors, the public, as well as other employees.
- Valid Driver’s License
Special Notes Concerning This Position:
- A background check, drug screen and motor vehicle report will be required prior to hire.
- The duties of this position may also include assistance with sheltering operations and working medication clinics during natural disasters and Public Health emergencies.
- Completion of the Notary Public Course and Certification will be required within 90 days of hire.
- ICS Trainings (100, 200, 700 and 800) must be completed within 90 days.
