Summary:
KEMET, a YAGEO Group company, is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team at the ICT. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control activities for a new product line of tantalum capacitors.
Key responsibilities include maintenance of quality systems, investigation of root cause, preparation for and execution of internal/external audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of quality control methodologies, and experience in a manufacturing environment.
Job Description
- Provide manufacturing support for quality issues and product dispositions.
- Maintain documented quality system.
- Apply knowledge of Quality Core Tools.
- Lead 8D teams to drive root cause analyses and corrective and preventive action implementation.
- Gather & analyze data to support efforts to reduce cost & improve efficiencies.
- Work in cross function team atmosphere to ensure the delivery of high-quality components on schedule.
- Perform product, process of systems audits as appropriate to identify and address risk.
- Ensure conformance with industry standards and customer specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering field.
- 1-3 Years experience preferred.
- Team first attitude, flexible, demonstrate a desire to provide solutions.
- Must have strong analytical and computer skills (Microsoft Suite, Minitab); experience in statistics (SPC and DOE) strongly preferred.
- Practical knowledge of manufacturing operations.
- Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.
- Must be able to work effectively across disciplines and communicate effectively.
- Must be able to multi-task in a high paced environment.
- Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 standards.
- Working knowledge of FMEA, 5Why, MSA, PPAP and Control Plan.
