Position Title: Program Coordinator II – Family and Juvenile Court Improvement Program (FJCIP)
Location: Yakima County Juvenile Court
Pay Range: $30.70 - $38.94 per hour (AFSCME-87P Pay Plan, C41 Step 1-13)
Hiring Range: $30.70 - $32.58 per hour (AFSCME-87P Pay Plan, C41 Step 1-4 DOQ)
Closing Date: January 30, 2025

The Yakima County Juvenile Court Department is seeking a Program Coordinator II for the Family and Juvenile Court Improvement Program (FJCIP). This position is critical in supporting dependency court operations and improving case outcomes for children and families involved in child welfare.

The FJCIP incorporates Unified Family Court (UFC) principles, emphasizing stable leadership, education, and case management support. The Program Coordinator II will:

  • Analyze and share data with local dependency stakeholder groups to drive system improvements.
  • Convene local system partners to identify opportunities for meaningful practice change.
  • Foster a court culture that is trauma-responsive, equitable, and respectful of families, community members, and system professionals.
  • Serve as a catalyst for improving operations using data, research, and peer court experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice/Law & Justice AND two (2) years of progressively responsible program experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job successfully

Requirements:

  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License and proof of insurance, if requested, at the time of appointment.
  • Successful completion of Administrative Office of Courts (AOC) mandated training within 12 months of employment.
  • Submission of a criminal and abuse/exploitation history disclosure statement (pursuant to Chapter 486, laws of 87, Sections 1-5).
  • Final applicants will be fingerprinted and hired subject to the results of a background investigation.
