What are the responsibilities and job description for the YMCA Lifeguard position at Yakima Family YMCA?
We are seeking responsible and attentive CERTIFIED Lifeguards to ensure the safety of our pool guests. The ideal candidate will be vigilant, customer-oriented, and possess the necessary certifications to respond to emergencies. ONLY Shifts available Friday afternoon/evening, Saturday and Sunday.
Responsibilities
- Monitor pool activities to prevent accidents
- Enforce pool rules and regulations for the safety of all guests
- Provide excellent guest services and assistance as needed
- Perform pool maintenance tasks such as cleaning and chemical checks
- Respond quickly and effectively to any emergencies or incidents
- Administer CPR, first aid, or other life-saving techniques when necessary
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to pool equipment or supplies
Experience
- Certification in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid
- Strong swimming skills
- Previous experience in lifeguarding or related roles is a plus
- Knowledge of pool cleaning and maintenance procedures
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16.66 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
Schedule:
- Weekends only
