Job Summary:
The Ambulatory Care Nurse Specialist provides comprehensive patient assessments, delivers education to patients and families, and assists with various medical procedures while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
This role involves direct patient care and oversight of non-RN personnel, promoting teamwork and effective communication within the healthcare team. The position requires a valid RN license and strong clinical skills, particularly in the ambulatory care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care.
- Document plans provided, patients' understanding, and any outcomes.
- Provide education verbally and in writing.
- Assist providers in intra-office procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field.
- Provide care in compliance with regulatory bodies, YNNHS policies, and standing orders.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- 2-3 years nursing experience, urology preferred.
- Recent ambulatory/medical office experience preferred.
- Proficient in use of computer software to include electronic patient records.
- Ability to use internet for literature searches regarding care for patients.
