CRNA Consultant at Yale New Haven Health

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides exceptional patient-centered anesthesia care in collaboration with anesthesiologists and surgeons. This role requires excellent clinical skills, flexibility, and a commitment to patient safety in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality anesthesia care for medical and surgical procedures.
  • Cultivate a patient-centric environment that focuses on the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and functional needs of patients and their families.
  • Serve as the focal professional for continuity of care within scope of practice standards and specialty-specific standards.
Call CRNA Requirements
  • Availability to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays as part of the restricted in-house call rotation.
  • Willingness to respond to emergency calls and provide anesthesia services within the hospital setting.
  • Required to give 90 days' notice when transitioning or resigning from the call team.
Qualifications
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist certification.
  • Completion of a certified nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs.
  • Current State of Connecticut Nursing License and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Prior experience as a CRNA is preferred but not required.
Physical Demands
  • Able to demonstrate intellectual-conceptual, integrative, and quantitative abilities.
  • Skills in observation, communication, and motor functions.
  • Mature behavioral and social attributes.
