About the Role
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist Lead will play a crucial role in the Diagnostic Radiology department at Yale New Haven Health. This position requires a highly skilled individual who can utilize complex imaging equipment to produce high-quality images for subsequent interpretation by the nuclear physician.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals, nuclear medicine equipment, and nuclear medicine imaging procedures to perform high-quality PET CT imaging procedures.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of cross-section anatomy to perform efficient CT protocols.
- Lead radiopharmacy duties, including receipt, preparation, administration, and storage of radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring safety and integrity of the agents used.
- Maintain and troubleshoot gamma cameras, computers, and other related auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Foster a collaborative environment by providing education and training to colleagues on new technologies and procedures.
Requirements
- AS degree in Nuclear Medicine and Radiological Technology Program with a BS degree preferred.
- Demonstrate technical skills to meet entry-level standards of routine CT imaging and 1-2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine.
- NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology or ARRT(R) certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist and Connecticut State License.
- CPR Required.
