A Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to ensure proper radiologic diagnosis.

- 1. Performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to ensure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients.
- 2. Updates IS/RIS system with patient information.
- 3. Completes forms (history, pregnancy, and requisition) and verifies patient information.
- 4. Reports equipment malfunctions to manager or Bio-Med.
- 5. Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes to position patients safely and effectively.
- 6. Interviews patients to gather pertinent history and reviews available clinical data from charts.
- 7. Operates complex radiographic equipment using the A.L.A.R.A. standard.
- 8. Performs various clerical duties, including verification of patient information and exams performed.
- Must be a graduate of an approved two-year program in Radiology Technology.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technology or registry eligible; must obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Requires a minimum of one year of experience.
- Must possess RI license and ARRT certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
