Radiologic Technologist at Yale New Haven Health
The Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role in providing top-notch patient care and performing various radiologic procedures in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proficiency in CT scanning, maintaining safety protocols, and ensuring accurate patient documentation.
- Rotating on-call shifts, skillful operation of diagnostic equipment, and collaboration with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
Technical Expertise:
- Acquiring highest quality diagnostic scans, adjusting technical factors for body habits, patient age, and weight.
- Producing diagnostic quality radiographs using proper technical factors and patient positioning.
Additional Duties:
- Exam charging, patient insurance, and maintenance of day log, PACS, and teleradiology solutions.
- Film patient exams, including ROI, and attention to detail when hanging patient exams for radiologist interpretation.
Communication and Safety:
- Maintaining good communication amongst team members and other departments to maximize excellent patient care.
- Safely operating all equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and adhering to all safety procedures in the handling of hazardous materials and blood-borne pathogens.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED from an ARRT-approved program in radiologic technology.
- Current Connecticut State license in Radiographer.
- ARRT Registered, Computed Tomography (CT) certified, and BLS certified.
