Yale School of Nursing (YSN) is seeking a Classroom Media and Technology Coordinator to join a dynamic and growing Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL). The Classroom Media and Technology Coordinator ensures that all classroom, A / V, and instructional technology systems are fully operational and reliable. Key responsibilities include monitoring classroom functions and specific events using remote tools such as Q-SYS UCI Viewer, IPNinjar, and Domotz to ensure optimal system performance and reliability. The coordinator identifies, addresses, and resolves technical issues to prevent downtime and maintain seamless operations. Provide comprehensive hardware and software support for faculty, staff, students, and visitors during classes, school meetings, and events. This includes routine technical support like desktop and mobile device setup, troubleshooting, and software updates.
The coordinator also consults with faculty on A / V technology solutions to support teaching and learning. They administer the student iPad program, managing the lifecycle of devices using tools such as InTune and ASM. Additionally, the coordinator provides setup, operational, and troubleshooting support for A / V systems in various spaces such as classrooms, conference rooms, and event venues. Schedule and manage lecture capture, live streaming, and video conferencing tools, including Zoom and Panopto. Serve as primary support for Panopto, covering classroom use, individual recordings, and Canvas Media Library management.
The role extends to supporting multimedia projects, including project coordination, recording, and post-production tasks for faculty and staff. The coordinator maintains and tracks A / V equipment inventory and implements improvements and updates to enhance system reliability and user experience.
The coordinator develops and maintains a knowledge base of policies, procedures, and troubleshooting documentation to ensure high-quality support. This role involves coordinating with technical teams and vendors and managing various technology programs and projects on schoolwide and individual scales, ultimately enhancing educational delivery through expert consultation and support for A / V technology solutions.
Essential Duties
1. Consults with faculty to assess their classroom and instructional technology needs. Chooses or develops solutions that support pedagogical goals and interoperability within classrooms. 2. Provides technical support services including control system networking, configuration, and basic programming. 3. Performs systems installation, including cable termination and rack assembly. 4. Troubleshoots audio-visual control systems that utilize various interfaces. 5. Performs system diagnostics, assigns device ID's and updates firmware using software programming and design tools. 6. Manages applicable resources remotely, performs system diagnostics, analyzes usage patterns and logs network activity. 7. Develops testing and calibration procedures for installations in production environments. 8. Supports basic networking systems and protocols with an understanding of client-specific networking and security requirements. 9. Coordinates and facilitates technology, infrastructure, and environmental, operational and related support issues. 10. Oversees daily support services for assigned zones and serves as the initial point of contact for resolving problems in these zones. 11. Maintains proficiency in audio-visual technology and applies this knowledge to audio-visual systems integration and support services. 12. Coordinates, organizes, and executes audio-visual support. 13. Develops and edits departmental documentation regarding system specifications and usage. 14. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Eight years of related experience, six of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high school level education, or six years of related experience and a Associates degree; or two years of related work experience and a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required Skill / Ability 1 :
Advanced knowledge of video conferencing solutions.
Required Skill / Ability 2 :
Expertise in audiovisual control and automation systems (such as Q-SYS, Crestron).
Required Skill / Ability 3 :
Exemplary customer service and advanced problem-solving expertise.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills :
Proficiency in educational and / or event audiovisual technology management.
