Position Focus :
Under the supervision of the Alumni Fund Deputy Director, the coordinator plays a key role in the solicitation, engagement, and stewardship efforts of the Yale Alumni Fund. Working both independently and in partnership with other team members, this staff member is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to develop and present marketing strategies for outreach to alumni through various communications channels. The coordinator also supports new initiatives and innovations and is an active contributor to the success of the Alumni Fund and the For Humanity campaign.
Examples of responsibilities are outlined here. Uses analytical skills to identify opportunities, assess needs, and build strategies for a multi-channel marketing program. Collects, analyzes, and interprets data to formulate the best possible hypotheses and strategies for impactful alumni and donor engagement. Creates target audience segments for donor and alumni-centric multi-channel outreach. Researches donor and alumni behavior to understand their needs and preferences. Tracks and forecasts trends in fundraising, stewardship, and marketing. Works with partners to learn and understand division-wide marketing and coding strategies to establish a donor and alumni-centric approach. Prepares reports and shares findings with team members, partners, and senior leaders.
Given the various innovations of the Alumni Fund team, this coordinator also supports other project initiatives and tasks as assigned in order to be an active contributor to the success of annual giving programs.

Essential Duties
1. Provides high level administrative support for project team. Establishes, selects, implements, and coordinates administrative procedures and systems. 2. Serves as principal source of information to project team and impacted students, staff, and faculty on project activities. 3. Works with a variety of project management and spreadsheet software to maintain project timeline and track resource allocation, performance metrics and other project related information. 4. Communicates with project team as necessary to monitor and ensure timely completion of deliverables. 5. Monitors expenditures and reconciles financial statements to ensure compliance with budgetary parameters and guidelines. 6. Composes substantive correspondence and written material. Assists with communication of project status and other information as necessary. 7. Determines logistical needs for meetings, including developing and assembling meeting materials, arranging rooms, catering and transportation as necessary. 8. Oversees, instructs, and coordinates activities of support staff. 9. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required Skill / Ability 1 :
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word and ability to use mail merge and pivot table functionality. Willingness to learn new technologies, software, and processes.
Required Skill / Ability 2 :
Demonstrated strong organizational skills; ability to take responsibility for own workload; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and coordinate steps / resources under deadlines and with professionalism.
Required Skill / Ability 3 :
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently or as part of a team, and be consistent and reliable. Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
