What You Will Be Doing:

As the Used Equipment Inspector you will be responsible for appraising used and rental equipment regarding the operation, condition and needed repairs to determine the market place value to sale or rent.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Inspect machines used in construction, quarry, mining, government, landfill, and industrial products
• Inspecting customer trade-in equipment. (single and packages)
• Inspecting machine purchase opportunities
• Inspecting Governmental units before repurchase term expires to note damage and issues that can be repaired under warranty before machine is returned
• Inspecting Cat Financial Lease returns, 60 days before expiration, for customer damages and allowing sales department advance preparation for machine purchase from CFSC if not converted
• Inspecting Heavy Rents Track machine to keep undercarriage measurement up to date to prevent high cost of replacement

Additional Responsibilities:

• Participate in required safety program and work in a safe manner.
• Additional duties as assigned by manager.

Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position you should be familiar with machine operation, standard machine maintenance and the ability to determine market value on used equipment. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. Also, being able to travel on a consistent basis is required.

Education/Experience:

•  High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Prior experience as Service Technician
• Travel is required
• Computer skills (software and internet usage)
• Valid driver license

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• Prior experience with SIS, DBS, ET (CATERPILLAR systems)
