High school diploma or equivalent. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all phases of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Job Description:

The incumbent is responsible for the overall management of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations, in accordance with government and/or state and local regulations. The incumbent supervises all daily work operations for the transportation department. The incumbent is responsible for the contractual obligations in support the Performance Work Statement provided by the Federal Government.

Qualifications:

• Ten (10) years’ experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Three (3) years supervisory experience.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all phases of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Current valid state issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance as applicable to the position.
• Ability to pass employment background check and/or drug testing required by the contract.
• Must be medically qualified to live and work in a remote location with limited medical facilities.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a current U.S. Passport.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Power Point) at an intermediate level.
• Willing to live and work on the remote island of Ascension with no family accommodations available.
• Experience managing a military or large commercial fleet.
• Experience working at a remote location.
• Current security clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience in repair and maintenance of aircraft support equipment and emergency vehicles.
• Prior DoD government contract experience.
• Commercial Driver’s License.
• Knowledge and previous experience with wide area workflow.
• USAF Air Force Specialty Code (2T3XX); Vehicle Maintenance and Operations experience
• Experience using Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manages department programs and personnel, including but not limited to: technical direction and guidance, job tasking, training, establishing priorities, parts research and orders and maintaining accountability of all assigned personnel.
• Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and servicing of government vehicles on Ascension Auxiliary Airfield.
• Oversees the vehicle preventative maintenance program.
• Manages repairs and fleet status using Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS)
• Manages Critical Spare program.
• Oversees repairs of aircraft support equipment.
• Oversees DOT compliance reporting relating to vehicles.
• Provides reports to the government and corporate as required or requested.
• Develops training plans and Standard Operating Procedures
• Performs cost effectiveness evaluations for vehicle “end-of-life” considerations and waiver requests.
• Subject matter expert for fleet maintenance and performs hands on maintenance as required.
• Performs related work as assigned

Safety (Personal Protection) Requirements:

May require hard hat, safety goggles, safety shoes, ear protection, Hard toed safety shoes or boots, safety glasses or goggles, gloves, etc (as required by task)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $33.00 per hour
