Responsibilities:
- Machine Operators are responsible for safely and efficiently operating manufacturing equipment focusing on the processes and procedures required to ensure quality material is produced and packaged per specifications
- Machine operation duties will vary based on product line and machines
- The plant will operate on a 24/7 schedule to produce essential hygiene materials.
- Machine Operators will work 12-hour shifts working the 2-2-3 Schedule working Sunday, Wednesday Thursday one week (36.75 hours) and then working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (49 hours) the next week
- Review production order to determine machine settings, adjustments, and material requirements
- Prepares appropriate raw materials, inspecting, accurately measuring, recording and transferring raw materials to the production line
- Records machine readings on the log sheet and notifies lead or supervisor of any issues.
- Observes machine operation and watches material to detect any defects or machine malfunction then takes appropriate action according to established procedures
- Records material defects with details of location and type of defect
- Prints labels and prepares product to be unloaded with correct labeling; scrapping any products with defects and placing in designated waste area
- Removes product from machine line and transports to designated packaging area
- Prepares packaging materials, labels, and packages product according to specifications, completing packaging records
- Conducts online quality checks and records and verifies all specifications are met
- Conducts routine cleaning of machines, production area, as well as contributes to cleaning common areas
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
