What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barback position at Yardbird DC?
The Barback is responsible for assisting the Bartender in maintaining smooth bar operations at all times. This role requires an energetic, positive, and friendly attitude.
Essential Duties-
Restock liquor, mixers, and all necessary garnishes for the bar.

Assist with tasks such as clearing empty glasses, cleaning the bar top, and removing waste.

Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the bar (e.g., wiping down surfaces, pushing chairs in, organizing drink menus, and arranging salt and pepper shakers).

Regularly check restroom conditions to ensure quality control.

Thoroughly clean restrooms at the end of each shift.

Clean spills and other accidents as needed.

Ensure bartenders have clean towels available at all times.

Wash glasses, cups, and dishes in the designated area, following proper sanitation procedures.

Ensure bartenders always have clean glassware.

Check ice availability in designated storage areas.

Assist bartenders in maintaining liquor inventory.

Follow procedures for opening, closing, and handling keys during each shift.

Ensure customer satisfaction by smiling and answering any questions.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Prior experience as a barback or in table clearing and cleaning is preferred.

Ability to perform well under pressure.
