Communications Lead – ERP Transformation Program
The Communications Lead will play a critical role in driving awareness, understanding, and engagement for a large-scale SAP ERP transformation within a manufacturing organization. This individual will design and execute a strategic communication plan tailored to diverse stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the ADKAR change management methodology. The ideal candidate has deep experience in ERP transformation communications, preferably in manufacturing, and is skilled in crafting compelling messaging for executive leaders, business units, frontline employees, and project teams.
Success in this role requires a strategic thinker who can apply design thinking principles, quickly adapt to evolving challenges, and develop creative, engaging communication strategies that resonate with different audiences. The individual must also be adept at understanding the communication preferences of various stakeholder groups to design and execute communications and engagement activities effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with the ERP transformation roadmap.
- Ensure messaging consistency and clarity across all stakeholder groups, tailoring content for executives, business units, frontline employees, and project teams.
- Apply design thinking to enhance communication effectiveness, ensuring engagement and alignment across diverse audiences.
- Understand the unique communication preferences of different stakeholder groups to design targeted communication and engagement strategies.
Messaging & Content Development
- Create clear, compelling, and visually engaging content, including newsletters, FAQs, infographics, videos, intranet updates, and leadership presentations.
- Develop executive-level communications, including C-suite briefings, leadership talking points, and change impact reports.
- Ensure project team members receive timely and relevant information to stay aligned on ERP transformation milestones and deliverables.
Multi-Channel Communication & Engagement
- Leverage various communication channels, including email, enterprise intranet, digital collaboration platforms, webinars, and town halls.
- Design and execute engagement activities, such as workshops, focus groups, and employee listening sessions, to ensure two-way communication.
- Drive adoption of new tools and processes by crafting engaging, easy-to-understand communications that resonate with all levels of the organization.
Change Impact Communication & Problem-Solving
- Work closely with the change management team to translate complex technical changes into clear, impactful messaging.
- Anticipate potential resistance and proactively address concerns through targeted, transparent communication strategies.
- Think creatively and solve problems in real time, adapting messaging and engagement tactics as needed to ensure successful transformation outcomes.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Develop KPIs to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
- Conduct pulse surveys and stakeholder feedback sessions to gauge engagement and sentiment.
- Continuously refine communication strategies based on stakeholder feedback and data insights.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Experience & Expertise
- 10 years of experience in strategic communications, with a strong track record in ERP transformations (SAP preferred).
- Prior experience in manufacturing industry ERP programs is a plus.
- Strong understanding of ADKAR or other structured change management methodologies.
- Proven ability to craft compelling messaging for executive leaders, business units, frontline employees, and project teams in complex transformation environments.
