POSITION DESCRIPTION:.
Heavy equipment operator responsibilities, are carried out by a skilled person who does this job with precision, responsibility of cleaning, maintaining and servicing the equipment periodically. Operate various hydraulic and mechanically controlled mobile equipment, which include but not limited to Front End Loader, Dozer, Haul Truck, Motor-Grader, Excavator, and Water Truck.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
· Must have valid Arizona Driver’s License and be insurable under the Yavapai-Apache Nation, and continue to be insurable for the duration of employment.
· Three (3) years’ experience in construction/mining/concrete industry preferred.
· Preferred experience in operating Loaders, Scrapers and operation of processing plant with crushing, washing and screening.
· Strong mechanical skills preferred.
· Must have ability to effectively communicate in English, including reading and writing.
· Must be able to be at work on time and early mornings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lift and/or transport materials to and from storage or processing areas for feeding of conveyors, hoppers, chutes, and loading trucks.
· Assist Lead Mechanic to perform routine maintenance such as: lubricating, fueling and cleaning.
· Manual duties Such as lifting and shoveling for clean-up of material.
· Able to conform to strict safety regulations and policies.
· Attend all safety meeting
· Must have good radio communication skills.
· Must be able to operate equipment 8-10 hours per day.
· Must be willing to be trained on other equipment as needed.
· Must have sound judgment to make visual and safety decisions.
· Must be a team player and assist in all other areas as assigned by supervisor or manager.
· Must be able to write incident reports in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements
· Will be required to perform manual tasks around plant such as lifting and shoveling.
· Specific Visual abilities required include close vision, distant, peripheral depth perception and ability to focus.
· Will require frequent visits to project sites where loud noise and hazard danger potentials are high.
· Must be able to lift or move fifty (50) lbs.
