What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Financial Controller position at Yazaki North America?
What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for a Program Controller to join our Finance team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization. This position is hybrid.
What you will be doing:
- Wire Harness Pricing: In this role, responsibilities will include obtaining cost input from functional groups to support quotations development, presenting new business calculations to the program team, and calculating program ED&T.
- Wire Harness Transfer Pricing: In this role, you will analyze the impact of new affiliate prices on direct profit, report findings to the program team and BU management. You will also collaborate with the affiliate transfer price group to develop new business quotes and resolve costing issues.
- Program Forecasting: This role encompasses key responsibilities including preparing a direct profit forecast considering various factors impacting carline profitability, creating a logistics and extraordinary expense forecast, preparing program direct costs, providing forecast updates, and acting as a liaison between the core Finance team and Program Management.
- Program Support: In this role, you will support the Program Manager and contribute to program success. Responsibilities include resolving customer invoice discrepancies, reviewing program financial results, participating in cost optimization efforts, preparing financial information for reviews, and assisting with accounts receivable tasks. Your contributions will ensure effective program management and financial control.
- Month/Quarter/Year End Closing: Responsibilities include providing data for assigned programs, reviewing sales prices in the financial system, investigating, and resolving purchase price and sales price discrepancies, supporting manual invoicing activities for special arrangements, creating program accruals, and assisting with annual audits as needed.
What you will bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or closely related field
- 3 to 7 years of previous commercial/financial experience in the automotive supply industry
- Travel: minimal
- Ability to resolve issues by applying creative thinking
- Ability to think and act logically under pressure
- Ability to resolve issues or propose resolutions to responsible parties
- Must work independently and collaboratively
