Position Overview
As a Literacy Coach, you will support teachers through classroom observations, one-on-one coaching sessions, and/or professional development workshops. Your primary responsibility will be to guide teachers in implementing high-quality literacy instruction. This role is ideal for someone with experience in mainstream elementary education and a deep commitment to improving literacy outcomes for all students.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Support:
Conduct regular classroom observations and offer constructive feedback on instructional practices.
Hold one-on-one meetings with teachers to discuss instructional strategies, classroom management, and student progress.
Provide ongoing, tailored coaching based on the specific needs of each teacher to ensure continuous professional growth.
Collaborate with teachers and the principal to design individualized action plans for instructional improvement.
Collaboration & Communication
Foster a collaborative learning community by facilitating discussions and the sharing of resources among teachers.
Partner with administrators to ensure alignment of instructional goals with school-wide initiatives.
Communicate effectively with parents about student progress, strategies to support literacy development at home, and the overall importance of literacy in education.
Schedule
Mostly afternoon hours, with a flexible schedule based on teacher and coach availability.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Literacy, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
- Experience in teaching and/or coaching elementary grades, with a strong understanding of literacy development.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build positive relationships with teachers and support their professional growth.
- A deep passion for literacy education and supporting teachers in delivering high-quality instruction.
- Creative, proactive, and innovative in designing engaging instructional practices.
- Strong ability to assess and respond to the needs of individual learners and teachers.
