Role Overview:

Yellow Dog Software is looking for a proactive and service-minded Sales Guide to develop and nurture relationships with our sports clients. This role will support the varied needs and drive ongoing and new sales growth in this vertical. This individual will specifically respond to inquiries, prepare proposals and quotes, schedule and host sales demonstrations, and enhance the strength of our existing relationships with assigned clients. This person must have a passion for and understanding of the unique dynamics within the sports and hospitality industries. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a desire to contribute to the success of our sports clients by delivering tailored inventory management solutions and superior client service. This position is in-office in Norfolk, Virginia, and reports to the Director of Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming sales inquiries from existing clients and prospects.
  • Assist in providing consultative sales support by understanding client needs and offering solutions uniquely served by Yellow Dog's solutions.
  • Learn the company’s software offerings to effectively answer client questions and provide consultative and solution-focused product demonstrations.
  • Prepare accurate proposals and contracts for clients, ensuring all expectations are clearly set.
  • Provide follow-up and support for sales activities including proposal management, lead nurturing, and managing sales funnels.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients via phone and email.
  • Collaborate with other sales team members to ensure the sales process runs smoothly, from initial contact to closing the deal.
  • Assist with partner relationship management and ongoing client communication to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Lead web-based software demonstrations and help with the setup and maintenance of demo environments as needed.
  • Participate in non-sales activities like trade show preparation, client-related meetings, testing, and marketing material management when necessary.
  • Proactively engage and troubleshoot client needs.
  • Be willing to take on ad hoc projects and additional responsibilities as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information to clients and internal teams
  • A successful track record of exercising a consultative sales approach, focusing on identifying and analyzing client needs and tailoring solutions accordingly.
  • Strong technical abilities, including proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools like Zoho.
  • Familiarity with contracts and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong organizational skills, high level of integrity, and a highly resourceful approach to challenges.
  • Fast learner who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, navigate shifting priorities, and maintain a positive and self-starting orientation to their work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with inventory management, ordering, receiving, or physical counts.
  • A college degree and proven track record with experience with business-to-business sales.
  • A passion for sports, hospitality venues, and technology is highly desirable.
