Logistics Coordinator - Objective
The Logistics Coordinator serves as a critical liaison between G&H, internal departments, customers, and vendors, ensuring seamless coordination of transport operations. This role is responsible for accurately managing orders, shipping, and delivery timelines while optimizing logistics processes. The coordinator will negotiate with freight brokers and carriers to secure the best possible rates, book loads using various transportation methods, and make informed decisions based on priority, pricing, and specific requirements to enhance overall efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Reports Directly to the Logistics Manager
• Resides at YJ HQ Warehouse @ 11927 Tanner Road
Responsibilities
• Act as a liaison between internal departments at G&H and customers to ensure shipping schedules align with customer expectations.
• Monitor the progress of orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
• Negotiate with carriers and brokers to secure competitive rates, collect bids, and make decisions based on priority and other relevant factors.
• Communicate with customers and site contacts to confirm readiness for material receipt at well sites and locations.
• Stay informed about ATF and DOT rules and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Assist the shipping team in packaging and loading trucks efficiently.
• Utilize the company ERP system to streamline logistics operations.
• Advise the shipping team on optimal routes and staging for deliveries.
• Promptly communicate any delays, hazards, or issues to relevant parties.
• Maintain direct communication with brokers and carriers to obtain status updates on shipments.
• Use software tools to book trucks and maintain accurate logs of transportation activities.
• Perform data entry and complete necessary forms to support logistics functions.
• Undertake any other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
Other Responsibilities
• Be available to take calls before and after business hours, as well as on weekends and holidays, to address urgent logistics needs.
• Communicate directly with drivers to ensure they understand rules, special instructions, and other delivery requirements.
• Demonstrate proficiency with maps and navigation tools to optimize route planning.
• Utilize scanners and printers effectively for documentation and logistics management.
• Prepare and submit reports on logistics activities and performance metrics as required.
Requirements
· Ability to multitask and work well under pressure of deadlines
· Strong communication and smart-phone skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel.
· Experience shipping Hazmat products is a plus.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team or independently.
· Experienced with a brokering firm and managing loads.
· Familiarity with TMS software systems for brokering.
· Understanding of DOT regulations.
· Must pass pre-employment drug screen and fitness test
