This position is full-time, working 3:00p - 11:30p including every 3rd weekend.

As the Director of Nursing (ADON) you'll play a crucial role in supporting the Director of Nursing (DON) in managing nursing staff and ensuring high-quality patient care. The ADON will ensure patient care excellence and standards of care. In addition, the ADON will support the DON to ensure policy and procedures are followed and implement new policies and procedures when indicated. This position is responsible for helping the DON with staffing the nursing personnel related to absences, time off, and vacant positions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.
- Assist in hiring, training, and supervising nursing staff; conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship.
- Monitor patient care standards and outcomes; advocate for patient needs and ensure quality care delivery.
- Demonstrates, promotes, and role models leadership behaviors and organizational values.
- Participates in departmental and facility performance improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve care, safety, service, and efficiency, making recommendations and implementing improvement opportunities as appropriate.
- Assist DON in conducting monthly chart audits.
- Assist DON in conducting monthly surveillance rounds.
- Assists with collection of data for performance improvement initiatives.
- Uses evidence-based metrics to align the organization's goals and objectives with patient outcomes.
- Makes timely decisions.
- Delegates appropriately.
- Reviews Policies and Procedures and provides feedback/revisions to CEO and DON.
- Participates in Joint Commission and State compliance activities.
- Collaborates with the Leadership Team in planning and implementing educational programs to meet identified needs.
- Assist the DON with making monthly staff schedules. Communicates schedule effectively with all staff. Adjusts staffing to ensure appropriate staffing ratios.
- Approves schedule changes and requests for vacation / sick time, and other time off.
- Monitors staff attendance and timeliness.
- Ensures a just culture of accountability.
- Checks stock of over-the-counter (OTC) and prescribed medications to ensure they are not expired, and notifies DON of needed supplies.
- Reviews medication errors with staff and ensures Medication Error Reports are completed.
- Evaluates and documents job performance of employees and takes appropriate action.
- Assists the DON with overseeing staff training and education.
- Communicates relevant information to staff .
- Evaluates workload for nursing staff and adjusts as needed.
- Monitors facility safety and works with nursing staff to produce a safe environment.
- Ensures adequate inventory of supplies is maintained.
- Attends mandatory staff meetings, in-services, and staff development activities as scheduled.
- Conducts monthly nurses’ meetings.
- Represents patient care issues to the DON.
- Develops and fosters relationships across the organization to build alliances and partnerships to achieve common goals.
- Other duties as assigned by the CEO, DON, and COO.
Qualifications:
- Current, active CA RN or LVN license
- Must have at least one year in an acute setting
- Minimum of two years freedom from chemical use problems
- Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of the principles and processes of substance use disorder treatment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Understanding of how to use current healthcare technology, such as electronic record-keeping software.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
