What are the responsibilities and job description for the OP Kids Assistant Camp Manager Summer 2025 position at Yellowstone Club?
This position is generally responsible for organizing all aspects of OP Kids summer camps and overnights. An OP Kids Assistant Camp Manager is responsible for developing a training program for OP Kids Camp Counselors, scheduling staff, and guiding counselors on ideas and suggestions for the camps and overnights. The assistant manager will be responsible for making sure the program has all the needed supplies and gear. The assistant manager will communicate with the OP Kids Manager on all pertinent program information. The assistant manager would have prior supervisory and leadership skills and have experience in an outdoor recreational setting.

Essential Job Functions:
- Able to lead a team of peers;
- Work closely with other OP Kids Supervisors on daily activities and events;
- Lead counselors in determining activities for camps and overnights
- Develop a training program;
- Interact with staff, children, and parents in a professional and caring manner;
- Have knowledge of all OP Kids programs, procedures, prices, meals, and activities to inform other departments and members regarding our program;
- Plan and/or attend team meetings and mandatory training sessions;
- Effectively communicate any behavioral problems in children with parent(s) and or guardian(s);
- Report conflicts or issues to the OP Kids Manager in a professional and timely manner;
- Presents a positive attitude at all times and strives to make a difference with member families and staff, both in OP Kids and other departments
- Flexible to change;
- Assist in the maintenance and care of all facilities in the OP Kids program and YC as a whole;
- Create bi-weekly departmental work schedules
- Manage daily reservations with the OP reservation team
- Develop and implement lesson and activity plans, including pre-season planning
- Develop and manage camp transportation
- A willingness to make a fool of yourself for the sake of making a child smile;
- A lot of energy;
- A desire to have fun.
Nonessential Job Functions:- Assist as a OP Kids Childcare Provider or 20 Below Counselor;
- Participate and assist with Yellowstone Club events even if the event does not directly relate to the OP Kids Program;
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience leading a team
- Demonstrated experience in Outdoor Education/Recreation
- Demonstrated experience working with children of all ages.
- Ability to teach and lead various activities and games to individuals of all ages.
- Knowledge of proper and appropriate discipline techniques to use with children and teens.
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual differences in ability, personality and interests, learning and motivation.
Skills and Abilities:- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Resourcefulness, good judgment, and self-confidence.
- Excellent character, integrity, and adaptability.
- The desire and ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere.
Education and Experience:- Three to five years of work-related skills, knowledge and experience is required.
- College degree preferred.
- Similar combination of education and experience.
- CPR/First Aid training required (provided).
- Wilderness First Aid Certification preferred (provided).
