Role Description
This is a contract hybrid role for an Operations Research Specialist at YemPover Inc in Wilmington, MA, with flexibility for remote work. The Operations Research Specialist will be responsible for conducting data analysis, developing optimization models, and providing insights to improve operational efficiency. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement strategic solutions and drive business performance.
Experience:
• 10 years of experience in operations research, preferably in the semiconductor or high-tech industry.
• Proficiency in optimization techniques, statistical analysis, and simulation tools.
• Expertise in mathematical modeling, linear/non-linear programming, and stochastic processes.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or C .
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes (e.g., wafer fabrication, lithography).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with machine learning techniques and their application to operational challenges.
• Knowledge of ERP systems like SAP or MES systems in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar methodologies.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
Responsibilities :-
• Optimization and Modeling:
o Develop and implement mathematical models and algorithms to solve complex operational problems in semiconductor manufacturing and supply chain.
o Perform linear, non-linear, integer programming, and simulation modeling to improve production efficiency.
• Data Analysis and Decision Support:
o Analyze large datasets to identify inefficiencies, trends, and areas for improvement.
o Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
• Supply Chain and Production Planning
o Optimize production schedules, inventory levels, and supply chain networks to minimize costs and meet demand.
o Identify and mitigate bottlenecks in the production process to maximize throughput.
• Process Improvement
o Design and test strategies for process improvements and automation in wafer fabrication, packaging, and testing.
o Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement new processes and monitor their effectiveness.
• Tool Development and Integration
o Develop and maintain tools that integrate with existing systems to support real-time decision-making and planning.
o Ensure alignment with industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Collaboration and Communication
o Partner with engineers, IT professionals, and business teams to align operations research projects with business goals.
- o Present findings and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
