Experience & Ability to Take Action
- Lived & Professional Experience: At least one year of direct experience working with at-risk youth is preferred or demonstrated life experience that equips you to guide and mentor young people facing challenges.
Age & Maturity for Leadership
- Readiness to Lead: Must be at least 21 years of age to provide appropriate mentorship, navigate legal requirements, and model responsible decision-making.
Essential Skills for Impact
- Time & Task Mastery: Strong time management and organizational skills—this isn’t just about being on time; it’s about being strategic, proactive, and accountable in guiding youth toward success.
- Effective Communicator: Clear and impactful written and verbal communication skills—the ability to connect with young people, community partners, and teams is non-negotiable.

Purpose:
Empower, mentor, and guide young adults to develop essential life skills, access education and training, and secure the support necessary for long-term stability and success. This role is about leading with purpose—not just providing services but driving transformational change in each young person’s life.
- Own the journey. Develop and execute case plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring continuous progress.
- Provide strategic support through monthly reports, skill-building sessions, intake assessments, and file updates.
- Remove barriers. Coordinate transportation, offer direct guidance, and connect youth with critical community services.
- Be the bridge. Maintain weekly contact with the Council of Community Services to align resources and opportunities.
- Establish and nurture partnerships with schools, workforce programs, and outreach organizations (monthly).
- Be seen, be heard. Conduct two outreach events per week—leveraging flyers, street contact, and materials to engage those in need.
- Actively educate and advocate within the community, ensuring that every young adult knows where to turn for support.
- Own the numbers. Maintain precise, real-time data tracking through Electronic documentation systems upon client entry, exit, and throughout the program.
- Drive results. Submit monthly client reports by deadline, ensuring compliance with grant reporting standards.
- Keep leadership informed. Provide updates on major client developments that impact their trajectory.
- Build trust. Maintain weekly contact with each client.
- Create accountability. Hold monthly one-on-one meetings with each client to assess progress and refine their success path.
- Equip for life. Facilitate weekly skill-building groups that prepare clients for adulthood.
- Advocate in action. Attend court as needed, serving as a champion for youth stability and growth.
- Navigate legal systems. Work closely with probation, parole, DFS, and housing managers to ensure alignment and client success.
- Lead under pressure. Effectively manage large groups, de-escalate conflicts, and provide structured, supportive environments.
- Be adaptable. Flex with program evolution and emerging needs.
- Be a voice in the community. Engage regularly with organizations to strengthen program awareness.
- Support beyond 9 to 5. Participate in rotating on-call coverage (typically every 6-8 weeks).
- Go beyond the job description. Take on additional duties that elevate client success and program impact.
