Yeshiva Har Torah is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Middle School History Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This part-time position includes teaching four classes each afternoon, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The ideal candidate will bring American history to life, inspire critical thinking, and foster an appreciation for the past’s impact on the present and future.
Responsibilities
- Teach middle school American history, covering key events, figures, and themes.
- Develop and implement engaging, discussion-based lessons that promote historical thinking and analysis.
- Foster a student-centered classroom that encourages inquiry, debate, and connection to current events.
- Utilize primary sources, historical documents, and multimedia resources to enhance instruction.
- Assess student progress through varied and meaningful assessments, providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to support student growth and school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure student success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching experience in middle school history preferred.
- Strong knowledge of American history, historical inquiry, and primary source analysis.
- Ability to create an engaging, inquiry-based learning environment.
