What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper position at YMCA Camp Cosby?
The YMCA focus is to strengthen communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Perform day-to-day Grounds keeping, assuring that the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is maintained at all times.
Essential Functions:
- Perform daily walk through of building, identifying areas to address, as necessary.
- Maintain inventory of supplies, tools and equipment.
- Keep facility grounds in clean and orderly condition performing any combination of the following duties: vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing and buffing hallways, stairs, open spaces, locker rooms and bathrooms.
- Remove trash.
- Set up and break down of meetings and events.
- Notify management concerning areas in need of repairs, by filling out work orders.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all grounds and activity areas, including the gymnasium.
- Implement rules and regulations, to ensure the safety of members and staff, according to Risk Management guidelines.
- Attends all staff meetings, required training sessions and special events.
- Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old and have valid driver license.
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- One years of experience in related field preferred.
- Must be able to run all cleaning equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good character, integrity and adaptability.
- Ability to learn to do tasks as assigned.
- Ability to accept supervision and excellent communication skills.
- Enthusiasm, patience, and self-control.
- Successful completion of all required screenings.
- Acquire and maintain the following certifications within 30 days of hire date via YMCA, American Red Cross, American Heart Association and American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI):
- First Aid/CPR /AED (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)
- Requisite Online Training Modules (completed prior to start date and repeated annually).
- Drug free workplace.
Physical Demands:
- Must have the physical, visual and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Perform related physical skills including: bending, lifting, squatting, reaching, standing, walking.
