A Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting the lead teacher in providing a warm, safe and nurturing learning experience for the children at the Hickory Foundation YMCA Early Learning Center while communicating the goals, guidelines and standards of the center. All team members are required to comply, maintain and enforce the rules and regulations of the North Carolina Division of Child Development as well as all Health Department sanitation requirements. As part of our Early Learning Team you will help create a warm, caring, and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, and preschool children and their families, and implement age appropriate curriculum. On a regular day you will support the lead teacher as they develop and lead classroom activities, engage children in play-based learning throughout the centers creative learning spaces, and assist each child to mature cognitively and develop social skills as they interact with one another.

What do you need to be considered?
- You must be 18 and have a high school diploma or GED
- Prefer NC Early Childhood Credential: EDU 119 OR Test Equivalent or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Prefer 1 year of Early Childhood Experience
You must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
