What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Age Child Care Coordinator position at YMCA of Dekalb Co.?
The YMCA is seeking to hire a School Age Coordinator. This position is responsible for planning and overseeing day to day operations for our Before and after-school and Summer programs for school-aged children.
Essential Functions:
- Uphold and promote all policies and procedures as established in the YMCA of DeKalb Co. Employee handbook/Early Learning Handbook/Licensing/CCDF/Paths to quality.
- In collaboration with the director, maintain and established SACC Curriculum that includes education, social emotional and physical components.
- Promote positive verbal and written interactions with children, parents and staff as well as supporting child development and behavioral plans
- Assist in annual reviews for SACC staff and their job performance and effectiveness.
- Responsible for hiring, scheduling and disciplinary actions with 5-20 staff.
- Responsible for onboarding and training new SACC employees.
- Additional duties include assisting the Director of Early Learning when needed.
- Responsible for supervising/organizing and time management of self and staff.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience working with children
- 2 years of active supervision of staff
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk long distances for field trips
- Ability to physically engage with children
- CPR, First Aid and child abuse and neglect training
- Must be 21 years or older
- Preferred 4 year degree
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
