Position Summary
The Program Coordinator - Gymnastics will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Dye Clay YMCA Gymnastics Program to ensure the excellent and consistent service of quality programming, as well as the training and leadership of gymnastics personnel. Supporting the full operations of the sports department to assist with the growth and development of the gymnastics programs.

Qualifications

Essential Functions
Direct Service - Gymnastics Instruction
- Design, implement, and teach gymnastics programs for various age groups and skill levels.
- Implement, monitor and enforce all quality processes and safety requirements, guidelines and protocols during training sessions and events to include proper physical spotting techniques.
- Increase athlete's skill level through developmentally appropriate skill progressions.
- Provide a high energy and positive learning environment for all gymnastics/tumbling classes.
- Effectively and positively communicate with children and their parents regarding skill development, and overall progress.
- Direct and supervise program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
- Establish new program activities and expand programs in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and parents, addressing inquiries and concerns.
- Cultivate relationships with participants, parents, guardians and extended family and friends through participation in programs to provide excellent customer service while also demonstrating the mission of the YMCA.
- Participate in required department and branch staff meetings.
- Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations, and child abuse prevention.
- Ensures the health and safety of all members/guests.
- Inspect physical space to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation, and cleanliness of facilities.
- Update information in front desk gymnastics binder to keep front desk staff up to date with program information.
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and directly supervise gymnastics instructors/coaches.
- Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
- Provide leadership to the gymnastics department to ensure top-notch programming with the goal of skill advancement.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information. Network with schools, coaches, Afterschool programs, and preschools through handouts and offers to increase program participation.
- Create newsletter and/or other communication to keep families informed of upcoming programs, events, and achievements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- At least 2 years of related instruction, coaching and lesson planning in gymnastics.
- Practical knowledge of progressive skill building as it relates directly to instructional gymnastics.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekend, and holidays.
- Obtain USA Gymnastics Safety Certification within 90 days of hire.
- Obtain USA Gymnastics U100 Fundamentals of Gymnastics Instruction Course within 90 days of hire.
