Position Summary:

Oversee 1 Afterschool Site and 1 Camp site. Develops and implements developmentally appropriate activities for Team-Up program; supervises staff; interacts effectively with staff, parents, and supervisors; and adheres to written budgets to foster individual growth and development of children in YMCA care.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Completes and maintains necessary records on student and program data.
  2. Files monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports regarding program to Kids Hope Alliance.
  3. Maintains program’s budget, tracks, and reports all spending.
  4. Provides leadership to a team of staff including enrichment staff, academic teachers, and the Lead Teacher.
  5. Plan daily, weekly, and monthly activities for students, and hold parent and/or special events.
  6. Collaborates with Principal and Lead Teachers to ensure students receive appropriate academic assistance.
  7. Maintains consistent communication with parents of students.
  8. Maintains positive relationships with school Principal and staff.
  9. Presents the YMCA mission and vision to staff, students, school community and parents.
  10. Verifies that the grant milestones for Youth Development grant-funded programs such as TEAM UP After School Programs and the Child Care Food Program are delivered in a timely manner.
  11. Ensures consistent quality programming across all grant-funded programs as it relates to the Program Quality Assessment (PQA), YMCA standards, and any other external stakeholder requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. High School diploma required.
  2. Two or more years’ experience in a supervisory position.
  3. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: CPR, First Aid, AED.
  4. Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program specific certifications.
  5. Willingness and ability to effectively communicate with youth.
  6. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Able to work in a diverse environment.
  8. Flexibility, resourcefulness, and high energy.
  9. Time management skills necessary to meet deadlines.
  10. Ability to understand and implement fiscal requirements.
  11. Ability to understand, interpret and implement licensure requirements, policies, and procedures.
  12. Ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
  13. Ability to present a positive image to staff, participants, colleagues, supervisors, and the community.

 

Physical Demands:

This position requires the following: Seeing, hearing, writing, standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting (50 lbs.), pushing (50 lbs.), and pulling (50 lbs.)
