The YMCA of Grays Harbor is seeking a passionate Camp Facilities & Maintenance Director at Camp Bishop to join our team!

This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt Director Position Pay Range: $56,915-$85,374 with possible OT in summer

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the direct supervision of the CEO, the Camp Facilities & Maintenance Director will work independently to perform routine and non-recurring duties using the knowledge of YMCA practices, policies, and organization as related to all matters of the branch. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in processing matters not requiring the supervisor’s attention. Directs the maintenance and improvement operations of YMCA Camp facilities and vehicles, including preventative maintenance and related budgets. Leans on and collaborates with YMCA Facilities and Maintenance Director for expertise and project knowledge.

The Camp Facilities & Maintenance Director works directly with the Camp Director to prepare for and report on all Camp Rentals. Manages, or acts as host to all users of camp; works to make all stays as enjoyable as possible while adhering to Camp policies. Maintains and repairs the facilities and grounds of Camp Bishop, including new building and grounds projects as they present themselves. Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. May complete duties related to window washing, meeting set up, water front cleaning, snow removal, grounds keeping, and other related responsibilities. Coordinates and plans work parties with the Camp Director by utilizing a volunteer base of camp supporters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Manages and oversees annual presence at camp, ensuring facility cleanliness and preparedness for rentals and programs.

2. Works effectively with other directors, specifically the Camp Director and YMCA Facilities & Maintenance Director.

3. Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing
preventative maintenance.

4. Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems.

5. Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors.

6. Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.

7. Develops budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against budget.

8. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs assigned staff and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.

9. Participates with other members of management in the YMCA’s annual fundraising campaign.

10. Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.

11. Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.

12. Updates facility plans periodically. May develop annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCA’s strategic plan and community needs.

13. Serves on the Camp Committee with board members, CEO, and volunteers.

14. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree in facility management or a related field or equivalent.

2. Three or more years’ experience in facility management or closely related field.

3. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.

4. Skills in supervision, budget management, and project management.

5. CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of employment.

6. Encouraged to obtain Lifeguard Certification.

7. Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.

8. Familiarity with personal computers helpful.

9. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

· The work is performed both indoors and out, and may require travel to various locations.

· While performing the duties of this job the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
