Hours: 8:30am- 12:30pm Mon- Thurs during the summer
Pay: $15/hr.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Sports Site Coordinator is responsible for all fields or gymnasiums in use by the YMCA during the time the space is occupied for YMCA purposes. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Greensboro is responsible for carrying out our promise to strengthen the foundations of community with focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility while upholding our values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage department equipment and facilities.
- Assist in management of sports leagues.
- Supervise practices, games and all personnel required at each event, including filling in as referee for games when needed.
- Promote, administer and lead in the development and implementation of youth sports programs and services.
- Serve as the Site Manager with the authority to make decisions regarding the activities of the day, including directing the work of other employees or volunteers on site, in the event that the Sports Director or Coordinator is not present or is otherwise unavailable.

This job has no first level supervisory responsibilities.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to parents, children, coaches and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all segments of the community. Ability to resolve conflict between all combinations of staff, volunteers, participants and parents.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- CPR/AED, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen training required upon hire and must remain current throughout employment.
