Title: Welcome Center Attendant
Status: Part-Time
Reports to: Membership Director
Job Summary:
To efficiently deliver excellent customer service to all members, guests, and program participants. Respond to member and guest needs, promote memberships and programs and maintain cleanliness of the front desk.
Job Responsibilities:
- Punctuality – You are required to be to work on-time and according to the schedule. Any additional hours must be authorized by the Membership Director. Failure to report for your shift can result in documented write-up and/or termination. Schedules are completed one month at a time. If you cannot work a scheduled shift it is your responsibility to find a replacement.
- Build Relationships – You are required to work effectively with all members and guests. Build relationships with members and help members connect with one another.
- Customer Service – You are required to provide excellent service to all including telephone calls. If you are unable to answer a question you need to get their name and telephone number and follow-up.
- Conflict Resolution – Handle and resolve concerns and issues to the best of your ability. Inform appropriate supervisor of any unusual scenarios/situations.
- Meeting Attendance – You are required to attend mandatory meetings (Unless it has been approved by the Membership Director).
- Cleanliness of work area – It is your responsibility to maintain order and cleanliness of the front desk area. Keep items picked up and straightened, clean counters, make copies of forms as required.
Specific Responsibilities
· Attend all scheduled meetings
· Be punctual for all shifts
· Learn member’s names. Greet everyone, if possible, when they enter the facility and as they exit. Remember you are the first contact our members and guests experience as they enter the facility.
· Smile – it is amazing what a smile can do to make someone’s day.
· Listen – be sure and listen to what the members and guests are trying to tell you.
· Be sincere when listening and responding to issues. What may not seem important to you may be extremely important to the person talking to you.
· If you don’t know the answer to a question, assure our members and guests that you will talk to someone and that they will be contacted. Be sure and follow-up.
· Setting up memberships for new members, while handling current members accounts on a computer.
· Answering phones and directing calls to appropriate departments.
· Scheduling personal training sessions
· Selling food/drinks from the cold case and stock cold case during your shifts
· Cleaning the lobby
· Handling transactions
· Help cover open shifts as needed
Restrictions
- All employees are required to work at least 8 hours per month to maintain complimentary membership status. If you wish to have your family on your membership the policy for this must be followed (refer to Employee Handbook)
- All other guidelines must be followed in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
- Attendance to meetings is mandatory.
- Must be able to use a computer.
