Hours: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM (preference is for 6–8-hour shift availability)

A YMCA Assistant Day Camp Director will help the Camp Director oversee the daily operations and management of a camp. The Assistant Camp Director is instrumental in making sure all camp activities are planned and scheduled daily for campers, and that all Day Camp Counselors understand their daily roles and responsibilities to ensure that campers are provided with a safe, engaging, bully-free and intentionally fun environment.
Requirements
- Must qualify for state license [Texas Department of Safety and Health Services (for YMCA Traditional Day Camps) or Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (for school-based camps)]. - Minimum age: 21 years of age; Education: High School Degree/ G.E.D. or higher
- At least 1-year previous management experience as a member of an afterschool program or day camp program.
- Ability to work outdoors for majority of the day and lead activities, including being in the pool on swim days.
- Standing and walking for long periods of time to provide proper auditory and visual supervision while walking around, and carry at least 30 pounds when needed, and be able to go from sitting to standing with ease.
- Maintain a strong, positive relationship with the local YMCA personnel to ensure our community connection to that branch. As well as communicating effectively with parents and staff.
