What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Maintenance - Housekeeper position at YMCA OF METROPOLITAN DALLAS?
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Housekeeping staff will ensure that the Facility is clean, safe, operational, and attractive to members satisfaction.
He/she will sweep, mop, dust, and clean the facility daily to meet member's needs. Clean and maintain floors, carpets, walls, windows, tiled areas, showers, restrooms and other surfaces of facility. Ensure that supplies such as soap and paper towels are replaced regularly, and that waste is emptied. Performs all housekeeping duties. Reports building problems. Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies. Utilize preventative maintenance and cleaning schedule for purpose of maintaining equipment and keeping facility in operational peak performance. Will assist with the cleaning of the parking lot and camp property as needed. Other duties as directed.
Six months or more experience in housekeeping work. Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment. Basic knowledge of maintenance helpful. Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to use equipment and chemicals in prescribed manner, including ability to read labels, MSDS information sheets, and instructions. Ability to identify and resolve potential safety and security problems. Ability to handle demanding individuals in a calm and courteous manner.
