What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Trainer - Richardson position at YMCA OF METROPOLITAN DALLAS?
DESCRIPTION:
The YMCA is currently taking applications for a Personal Trainer. The candidate is to aid in membership retention and growth by providing safe and effective exercise instruction in a one-on-one or small group setting; Answering members’ exercise and health questions, while building relationships with members and helping to connect members to each other. Inform members of fitness challenges and member appreciation events and encouraging their participation. Assist members in achieving health and fitness goals by assessing exercise readiness, designing individual exercise programs, as well as demonstrating and recommending appropriate exercises for various needs and goals. Lead members through appointments and follow up with members after initial appointment. Ensure the safety of the fitness floor, enforcing rules and age guidelines for cardio and strength equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant should be a dynamic, highly motivating, and energetic relationship builder with strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be committed to the YMCA mission and dedicated to serving our members through our fitness programs; must be able to articulate the YMCA mission and core values to YMCA members and perspective members; must be able to demonstrate proper form, technique, and body alignment on all strength and cardiovascular machines; must be able to evaluate a constantly changing environment for safety and to ensure that members’ needs are being met; must be well-organized, reliable, punctual, and professional; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Candidate must have a personal training accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). This includes but not limited to: NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM, NESTA, NCCPT, NCSF, and NFPT (we do not accept ISSA). Must also complete required safety trainings including CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Child Abuse Prevention as well as YMCA of the USA Healthy Lifestyle Principles. Current required certifications and trainings are the responsibility of the employee.
