Position Description
Under the guidance and supervision of the Sports and Recreation Director, the PLAY (Physical Education) Coach is responsible for the safety, supervision, programming and involvement teaching elementary students on campus in sports and physical education.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma
- Kinesiology, Physical Education, Education, or Pedagogy background preferred.
- Experience working with grades K-5.
- Ability to communicate effectively and relate to youth.
- Must possess skills necessary to inform, educate and motivate students in all areas of health and physical fitness.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to assist students in all aspects of physical fitness and barriers they must overcome to achieve their goals.
- Current approved EMSA First Aid; Adult, Infant and Child CPR Certifications (8 hours). Completion of child abuse prevention training prior to first day in program
