We're seeking a dedicated individual with a heart for youth development and a commitment to educational empowerment. As a Program Assistant, you'll play a vital role in fostering positive relationships with students and their caregivers while helping them navigate post-secondary education. You'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people, helping them unlock their full potential and pursue their dreams.
What You'll Do:
- Build meaningful relationships with students and caregivers
- Implement the Youth Institute curriculum to support teens in achieving interest and readiness for post-secondary education, technology, and more
- Facilitate discussions and activities to engage students in learning and personal growth
- Provide guidance and support to students in setting and achieving academic and career goals
- Collaborate with team members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to be a YMCA Driver preferred (valid Driver's License & ability to pass driver physical, background, & driving tests)
- Commitment to inclusivity, ensuring every member feels welcome
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years old or older
- Experience working with youth in an educational or mentoring capacity
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish rapport with students and caregivers from diverse backgrounds
- Current Adult & Pediatric First Aid/AED/CPR Certification from ASHI, American Red Cross or American Heart Association or willingness to obtain the certification within 30 days of hire
