Position Description
The Program Coordinator is responsible for creating welcoming and supportive environments in assigned YMCA programs. Responsibilities include : monitoring programs, engaging with members and program member retention activities. Responsibilities also include assisting the Program Director in managing the staff and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in recreation management, physical education or equivalent (preferred)
- Prior experience working with youth; organizing sports leagues
- Strong written and oral communication skills; knowledge of fundamental sports and age-appropriate motor development skills, as well as rules pertaining to various sports such as (but not limited to) basketball, floor hockey, soccer, volleyball, and flag football; visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation
- Current CPR / AED / First Aid certification
