YMCA Camp Letts is a dynamic resident camp facility dedicated to serving youth, families, and other organizations for over 100 years. Our camp is located in Edgewater, Maryland on 220 waterfront acres. Camp Letts features a welcoming dining facility with a beautiful waterfront view, and a wide range of activities and amenities including water sports, horseback riding, ropes course, nature exploration, and so much more. We are seeking a candidate who can act as our on-site leadership and customer service representative for external groups that rent our facility.
Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility:
- Acts as on site host, catering to retreat group needs while on site.
- Coordinates group retreats and large events at YMCA Camp Letts
- Works with groups from booking to end of stay to exceed customer experience expectations
- Prepares for all aspects of group visit, including but not limited to; Guest lodging, meal counts, Letts lead activity schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Increases return rate of Retreat Center groups by creating memorable group experiences.
- Serves as group host, greets group leaders, and leads meals and activities.
- Acts as lead point of contact for retreat activity staff, ensuring schedules are followed or adjusted as needed for on-site groups.
- Provides light maintenance for on-site groups as needed, and/or work with Retreat Director and Maintenance staff for any required upkeep or maintenance of property.
- Acts as fill-in when activity staff are not available on weekends as needed
- Works with the Executive Director, Associate Executive Director and Leadership team to promote and deliver the YMCA mission and philosophy to staff and guests.
- Creates meal count spreadsheets with allergies, group special needs and room set ups. Communicates with Food Services.
- Works effectively with guests, campers and staff and observes the YMCA Code of Conduct at all times
- Provides exceptional service to guests, community groups, and related agencies and helps trains staff to do likewise.
- Assists Retreat Center Director to increase group retention and increases new group bookings based on facility, staff, and activity management.

Education, Certification, Skills, and Experience:
- Certification or willingness and ability to obtain certification in activity areas including: High Ropes Challenge Course, Lifeguarding, MD boaters license, and Archery is required.
- Experience acting as main point of contact with groups, users, participants, or the public is preferred
- Experience working with various departments or groups to coordinate schedules is preferred
- Experience training staff is preferred
- Experience with youth groups is preferred
- Experience working in the hospitality industry is preferred
- Ability to effectively multi-task, have excellent customer service skills, and be a team player is required
- Must understand and be committed to working with diverse population and to YMCA character development.
Working Conditions:
- Work is largely outdoors in non climate-controlled environments
- Light housekeeping and maintenance duties are possible based on group’s needs (when maintenance staff is not on duty)
- Will require significant evening, weekend and occasional federal holiday work.
- Normal office duties and some programming may require some lifting (50 pounds or less)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 per hour
