YMCA Camp Hanes is seeking kitchen assistants to help prepare meals and serve campers during spring, summer and fall sessions. Primary responsibilities include:
- Prepare foods to specifications before said meal times
- Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking foodstuffs (18 and older), and helping prepare salads and desserts
- Ensuring all areas of the kitchen, food prep area, and food storage areas are cleaned and properly sanitized.
- Washing dishes, cooking equipment, cleaning floors, sanitizing countertops, and cutting boards
- Disposing of trash
- Organizing linen laundry
- Maintaining all areas to health code standards
- Understand the importance of health and hygiene
- Ability to listen and the willingness to learn
- Help accommodate guests with food allergies or a specific diet concern
Pay depends on experience and qualifications.
Schedule -- Two separate shifts: First (6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.); Second (3 p.m. to 9 p.m.). Some required weekend work, flexibility in scheduling. Up to 40 hours per week in the summer (all positions are part-time seasonal). 25-30 hours per week during the spring and fall when groups are in session.
Qualifications
- Minimum age 16
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Online training required
- First Aid/CPR/Oxygen certifications required (will offer classes free of charge)
- Drug/Background Check
- ServSafe or NC Safe Plate certifications preferred, but not required
Salary : $10 - $11
